A-Z HR Gurus of Q4 2018: See the Current Experts in Human Resources
We’ve just said goodbye to 2018 and as a last tribute to such a great year, we wanted to finish up with our final A-Z HR Gurus instalment to see who has influenced areas of human resources in the last quarter.
Our 2018 Q4 HR experts collectively encompass knowledge and skills across HR technology, culture, global and offshore workforce planning, transformative recruitment, org design, digitalisation and administration. But the most popular theme across the 2018 Q4 list is Change Management.
“One of the biggest mistakes I see organizations make today is how they handle change. A company will undergo change for many reasons — some will merge to become bigger and more stable, to remain competitive, to build a better brand or simply to survive. But how they handle change is critical to an organization’s success, and it can sometimes be the tipping point between that and failure.”
– Charece Newell, sHRBP, CCLC, CRC, Chief HR Officer, Corporate Culture Coach for Your Healthy Reality, providing strategic corporate life coaching services to organizations.
Although change management has always been highly important to HR operations in business, it hasn’t always been implemented and managed appropriately to actually be of benefit. This is something that must change going forward into 2019 as more developments, especially in technology and digitalisation, are set to take effect.
With change management, we are not talking about just communicating and pushing changes to keep in line with competition, we are talking about implementing successful change management strategies to better reduce resistance and push back from employees. With bad change management techniques in place, no strategy is going to be accepted by the workforce and could be compared to “pushing the accelerator and the brakes at the same time.”
So take direction from our list of HR Guru’s and follow them to get updates on how they successfully manage high volumes of change across organisations, no matter how big or small.
Some regularly share their knowledge by means of original written articles, relevant publications, have their own podcasts (such as Ben Eubanks with https://upstarthr.com), are climbing their own HR career ladder, are public speakers at HR events and even deliver e-learning to enable other HR professionals to upskill.
As transformations are going to be prominent across 2019, we feel that as a HR community we should be helping and supporting others during the more challenging times.
If you are looking for inspiration on how to successfully implement new initiatives, procedures or services within your business and want to develop an organisational change management strategy to support them, then our A-Z list of influencers may be able to offer up some guidance!
