But we had a great day together at Kaspar’s (founder of the company) countryside home and included games, food, drinks, supping, planning and lots of fun!

Did you notice this? We just released our first analytics dashboard showing you real-time insights into DNA trends in the workplace!

Over the coming weeks and months, we are going to be updating these with further metrics and analytics so that your HR efficiency blows the past out of the water!

> Time off request custom fields

Finding the one field for details is not enough? You can now add an additional custom field to time off requests! Add in your flight number for business trips, document number for reference to a sick note or anything else. These details won’t be shown in the calendar to other employees but will be shown to managers that have the ability to approve requests.

Improved recipes

> Terminated employee balances

Terminated employees’ final balances are now shown on their profile even after they are terminated. Of course, we calculate their balance based on the current period and termination date.

This will allow you to quickly check anything for payroll and beyond their employment in the company.

> Custom fields improve your reporting capabilities

Your drop-down custom fields on your profile can now be used in reports as well as the calendar and directory.

> Calculations!

This month, we had a major task of refactoring all of CakeHR calculations. This is setting us up for huge modules being released shortly!

The migration was successful and now all calculations in CakeHR have 100% test coverage meaning that even before you reach out with a question, we probably have already got the answer.

Important changes to our pricing!

On 14th July, we informed all legacy customers of CakeHR of changes to the pricing of their subscriptions, moving them from fixed plans to a more fair pricing that’s based on the number of employee company has.

Last year we began rolling out a new pricing model and, starting 31st July, the price of CakeHR will change from the legacy bulk pricing (Basic, Plus, Premium, Premium Plus), to:

• £2.30 per employee per month (paid annually), or
• £2.70 per employee per month (paid monthly).

This price change — our first change in five years — will let us invest aggressively in developing new features (and improving existing ones) to help you increase workplace management more effectively.

To be more transparent, alongside minor improvements that we release weekly, here’s a quick look at what we have coming up for the rest of this year:

• Continued refinement of the mobile and web apps
• Performance module including 360 feedback, goal tracking, development plans, employee kudos & recognition
• A brand new reporting and analytics dashboard
• Expense management
• Employee Timesheets for hourly tracking
