[NEW FEATURES!] Time-Off Approvers, Time-Off Policy Settings

We've heard it all - now the office dog can approve leave request! Employee leave management streamlining made HR easier. Here's how.

Yep – We have heard it all! The CEO leaves whenever he wants, the office dog approves whether or not your coffee intern can work from home and the new hire had no idea they are entitled to leave!

For the last five years, we have always ensured that your employees requests are sent to the right manager for approval but why fix something that isn’t broken? Well, to improve it, of course!

And who doesn’t like extra cherries on top?

Introducing: Time Off Approvers

Time-off Approvers can be anybody in the company. It could be based on project, team, office, location and that is just the start of it.

With HR management software CakeHR, you define to whom your employee should report to and approve requests.

> Administrators

As a default, Administrators (usually in HR but shout-out to all those super hero employers with super powers!) receive every email notification for every new hire however you can disable this in the the Settings > Time Off > Time Off Approvers.

As usual, however, administrators can edit requests even once accepted by another manager or approver.

> “Reports To” managers

The “Reports To” manager is set up in the Employee’s Profile and helps your build your Org Chart.

By turning on Org Chart approvers under the settings, whenever the employee changes their position in the company, we send their requests to their “reports to” manager.


> Individual Employees as approvers

Of course, there are times when another individual such as a team leader, payroll or office administrator is also able to approve the time off.

You can add any employee to approve any other employee’s request. These approvers do not have access to employees’ data – they simply approve!

> Access to profiles?

Right now, access to employees’ profiles is still maintained by the Teams section.

We moved all “Read-Only” managers to just managers so setting up your team is even easier now!

New Employees

Why stop there? Why not allow you to do achieve all of the above when you add in your new hire to CakeHR?

Well, when adding new employees into your company, you will be taken to a second step in account creation where you set up their policies, approvers and public holiday groups.

As a default, Administrators will receive every request so you can add in the additional employees that they report to

With all of the above, we ensure that your HR is simplified right down to the very last approval!
